A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Arthur, IL, was
held on Monday, December 14, 2009. Village
President Ron Kingery called the meeting to order
at 7;00pm. Roll call was answered by Trustees Terry Clark, Karen Good, Matt
Bernius, Mike McWiiliams, and Iris Dicks. Trustee
Darrell Duzan was absent.
New Business
President Kingery reviewed the discussions from the Police
Committee meeting last Thursday,
including discussions with Officers Kevin Mante and Ty Ledbetter.
L Dicks made a motion that as of midnight, December 31, 2009, the Police
Department of the Village
of Arthur be reduced by two full time employees
based on seniority of the current staff. The
two above name employees will be offered the position as part-time
police officers at their current pay rate. The part-time position
will reflect the 600 hours of employment
critical to qualify for eligibility under the IMRF act. M. Bemius
seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.
I. Dicks made a motion as of midnight, December 3I, 2009, the position of Animal Control Officer will be eliminated until further notice. K. Good seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.
Police Chief Mike Goodman stated that, due to health issues, Elmer Stanford is resigning as a school crossing guard. He is placing an ad in the newspaper and hopes to fill that position when school starts again in January,
